Good evening everyone. Here is the fast written version of the TLTV first Automobile wine tasting. Today we are pairing a 2015 Porsche Panamera GTS 450 HP with wonderful wine creations. The wine creations chosen are special. I was at lake Konstance yesterday to collect the wines for the tasting… Why did I choose Thomas Geiger…. The team at the winery create exceptional wines that make the Bodensee or lake Konstance shine. The wine architect has the talent to create wines in harmony with the terroir. The first wine tasted was the Weissburgunder trocken 2015. The color shows the elegance. It has a present moonlight paired with a eloquent white gold appearance. On the nose it shows the promise of complexity even at this young age. It enters your mouth with a wonderful complex minerality. Some green nuts and lots of young fruit. Going south you find citrus, pear,green nuts, light apple and pure elegant freshness that has a finish that calls for more. This is a wonderful wine for the Bodensee area and puts it on the map. Thomas Geiger really is a wonderful wine ambassador. The correlation to Porsche is obvious. The entry is elegant but firm. It hugs but does not yet kiss. You want to press the taste accelerator. Ever so gently. It blossoms in the same way Porsche blossoms on every road created. The finish lets you breathe in and change gear ready for another gusto. What a wine creation. Traubenliebe.com Score 85/100 They have a selection of around 80 wines by the glass.The trick is that they have machines that seal the bottles by vacuum and enable you to select the wine you want by the sip and by the glass. The process is simple. Get a card. Put some money on it and start tasting. Philippe and team are passionate and very friendly. The bar is situated in a beautiful old building and in the basement you find fluffy sofas and nice places to drink your wine discoveries. Some evenings there is live music. The selection changes all the time and Wine Touch is always good for a surprise. The glasses used a very average. Serving temperature is not brilliant (Whites should be a little colder at serving and the reds need to be colder as well.) The fun thing about this place is the ability to venture out on your own and try lots of wines. One thing I found it that the quality control needs to be better to avoid life-less, oxidized or corked wines. The service was EXCELLENT all flaws were corrected instantly. I love the passion for wine that is displayed here. They have little terroir cards allowing you to travel through wine France in a few steps and in a few sips a delight. Negative Wine glasses are every average Serving temperature for the wines is not ideal Found quite a few faulty wines Positive Good selection of wines Friendly staff Excellent concept Wandering around and sipping is wonderful Conclusion A good addition to the Parisian wine scene. Iron out the small faults. Add Coravin to the concept. Offer better glasses and perhaps with drink by numbers concept to guide people through the wonderful world of french wine. Not perfect but with a perfect heart. I will sneak by again! Service is friendly. Little bites to eat are offered and are tasty. This is a small bar run by a very nice team of people. They do not have a wine list so you need to browse around the room and pick your bottle from the wall. The prices are ok for the bottles. The glasses are better than in most bars. Visit this little gem. Enjoy the medium sized but straight forward selection of wines. The taste of god..... Does it meet your taste? Negative No wine list just the room with the bottles Positive Good selection of wines Friendly staff Decent wine glasses Bottle chiller Conclusion A nice quirky Parisian wine bar. Nice staff. Decent wine selection and some nice nibbles what more do you need!
